Wexford Badminton Academy – 8 Week Programme 🏸 We are delighted to confirm that the Wexford Badminton Academy will now go ahead, and we are inviting the players who submitted an Expression of Interest to secure their place in the first 8-week coaching block. The Academy will be based at Taghmon Badminton Hall and will provide additional structured coaching for young players who are keen to develop their skills, challenge themselves and progress their game. The programme will be led by John O’Brien, BWF qualified coach, providing high-quality, structured coaching throughout the eight weeks. Programme Details 🏸 8-week coaching block 📅 Thursday evenings ⏰ 6:30pm – 8:00pm 📍 Taghmon Badminton Hall 👥 Maximum 16 players 💶 €50 for the full 8-week programme We are delighted to have been able to reduce the cost of the programme to €50 per player, thanks to financial support from Taghmon Badminton Club and Wexford Badminton. Their support is helping to make this additional development opportunity as accessible as possible for young players across Wexford. The Academy is designed to complement players' existing club coaching, not replace it. Coaching will focus on developing the complete player, including movement and footwork, racket skills, technique, consistency, tactical awareness and match play. Over the eight weeks, John will be able to build on each session and work consistently with the group, helping players develop their game and supporting their progression through club, county and tournament badminton. Securing Your Place This registration is being sent directly to the players who previously submitted an Expression of Interest for the Academy. To secure your child's place, registration and payment of the €50 programme fee must be completed by Friday, 9 October. As places are limited to 16 players, any place not confirmed by the deadline may be offered to another player. We are really looking forward to getting the first Wexford Badminton Academy programme underway and to seeing the players develop over the eight weeks. 🏸 Please complete registration and payment below to secure your place. With 15 interested and 16 spaces, it also leaves you free to offer any unpaid places — plus the remaining 16th place — to someone else after 9 October.
